Atul Gaikwad said, “Since the road which is near Dhobi Ghat witness chaotic traffic scenes and with haphazard parking, traffic moves at a snail’s pace here. Thus, there is a need to have P1 and P2 paid parking on alternate days. This will solve all the issues and the cantonment will also get benefited out of it.”

PUNE: Finding sources for generating revenue, the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) ward members unanimously agreed to start ‘pay and park’ system on Habibullah Road, near Dhobi Ghat. The members in the recently held meeting put up the proposal and unanimously agreed to it.

The move has been taken to ease the traffic congestion and solve the parking issue on Habibullah Road. This will also generate revenue for the cantonment.

Singh, said, “It’s a good opinion to set up or start with P1 and P2 paid parking.”
