Banks demand more police patrolling and interaction

“Banks are frequent targets of fraudsters who are present inside and sometimes outside the bank. If police regularly visit the bank premises in uniforms the fraudsters will be scared. Similarly, there should be a hotline facility for banks so that they can call for police help at earliest,” said a bank official. 

PUNE: Heads of different banks in the city have demanded frequent police interactions between the bank authorities and local police. Bank officials have also requested police for increased police patrolling near banks and ATM machines at night.

Speaking of their demands, one of the bank officials from a private bank said that the buddy cop facility of the city police should also be extended for women working in the banking field. “Banks are frequent targets of fraudsters who are present inside and sometimes outside the bank. If police regularly visit the bank premises in uniforms the fraudsters will be scared. Similarly, there should be a hotline facility for banks so that they can call for police help at earliest,” said a bank official. 

Speaking on cyber frauds and banking frauds, another bank official said that they are ready to extend their support to police in such cases, however, police officials should provide all details of victims to them so that bank is able to help police in a better way. “Similarly police should keep bank officials in the loop about latest crimes so that banks can take precautionary measures. In cases of massive cyber attack on banks, police should rope in private experts to solve the case,” added the bank official. 

DEMAND FOR PARKING FACILITY
A number of IT companies have demanded police officials to provide them parking facility near the IT companies. The companies have also demanded that IT employees should be allowed to use BRTS road during peak hours, which will help in reducing traffic congestion.
