‘CM will act against careless govt officials’

Pune: State Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan on Monday said that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will soon take action against officials who were careless in handling the flood situation in Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara districts. Mahajan was talking to media in Sangli on Monday. 

Mahajan said that the chief minister has already taken a review of the flood situation and has announced that he will surely act against officers who failed to act on time. “The minister is personally looking into the issue and has sought a report on the timely action taken by officials to control the floods. About six government officials will be questioned by the government on the issue,” added Mahajan.

When Mahajan was questioned about warning signals issued in Sangli and Kolhapur, ahead of floods, Mahajan said that there is a need for better coordination between all government agencies.
